2016 EVENTS

During the Summit, on July 12, 2016, at McCormick Place, small business owners had the opportunity to network with and hear presentations from representatives from banks, attorneys, business coaches, affordable care act advisors, and many more organizations that provide assistance to small business owners.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In association with VIRGIL CSR and Quality Training Institute, GECS presented a Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility. Prominent business leaders attended this seminar on September 24, 2016, at Illinois Science and Technology Park. Several business returned interest in more upcoming CSR seminars, making it a widely successful program

BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM

In association with Illinois Central Management Services, we presented an awareness session on Business Enterprise Program, on October 14, 2016, in GEC office. Many local business leaders actively participated in this program. Through this program we  tried to increase awareness, provided network, assisted business and increase access to the State of Illinois Procurement process. The workshop was presented by Irma Lopez, Outreach Manager at Illinois Dept. of Central Management Services.

JOB FAIR OCTOBER

GEC has hosted its first Annual Job Fair on October 20, 2016 at Illinois Science and Technology Park. The objective is to increase employment opportunities for the students, professionals, and job seekers. We have accomplished our mission by offering a wider choice for selection to the recruiters and successfully providing resources and information. State Rep. Louis Lang and Skokie Mayor, Van Du Sen have inaugurated this Job Fair and congratulated GEC team for presenting this opportunity to minorities.

EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOP NOVEMBER 27th, 2016

Designed to help career seekers gain employment with the State of Illinois. The Illinois Dept. of Central Management Services partnered with GEC to encourage immigrant community to gain rightful employment by exploring government jobs. This provides opportunity for immigrants, minorities, and women to step up and participate in state careers. The workshop was presented by Barbara McDonald, Career Counselor at Illinois Dept. of Central Management Services.
